Introducing Dr. Sonia Gayete-Lafuente
We’re pleased to introduce Dr. Sonia Gayete-Lafuente, who has officially joined the team at the Center for Human Reproduction (CHR).
Dr. Gayete-Lafuente brings a strong background in both clinical care and academic research, with training and affiliations from leading institutions in Europe and the United States. Dr. Gayete-Lafuente completed medical school and residency in OBGYN in Spain. After residency, she knew she wanted to specialize in reproductive medicine. Dr. Gayete-Lafuente then came to the U.S. to complete her PhD program at Yale University in Connecticut.
Her work reflects a deep commitment to advancing reproductive medicine through evidence-based approaches and compassionate patient care.
As a fertility specialist and physician-scientist, Dr. Gayete-Lafuente has contributed to a growing body of research on complex fertility topics from ovarian function and embryo development to fertility preservation and IVF outcomes. She has co-authored many peer-reviewed studies and continues to publish, including recent work completed at the CHR and in collaboration with the not-for-profit Foundation for Reproductive Medicine.
At the CHR, Dr. Gayete-Lafuente is dedicated to delivering highly personalized care for all her patients. Her approach aligns closely with CHR’s mission which is to combine cutting-edge science with individualized medicine.
